CNET News reports on an FCC task force meeting on a national broadband plan
At a recent meeting, the FCC task force that is charged with developing a national broadband plan spoke about possible barriers to the plan. Among the issues they discussed were possibly having the Universal Service Fund contribute to broadband deployment and the problem of a lack of spectrum for wireless service. Blair Levin, who heads up the task force, also noted that in order to achieve the goal of broadband for every American, policymakers must take into the consideration the needs of consumers as well as industry that builds the infrastructure.
