The first grants and loans for the broadband stimulus funding will not be awarded until December, officials from the federal agencies in charge of distributing the broadband stimulus funds recently told a Senate panel. The original timeline had been mid-November for the first round of grants and loans to be awarded. Officials cited the volume of applications as part of the reason for delay.
